Andy Warhol – The American Dream
This informative and entertaining documentary film explores the Central European roots of one of the most famous and influential artists of the 20th century. Andy Warhol was born in Pittsburgh as ‘Andrew Warhola Jr.’ and was the son of a couple from Mikó in Austria-Hungary - now Miková in north-east Slovakia. Director Slivka combines interview footage with archive material and takes us on a journey from Warhol's family roots to his rise in the 1960s and his later fame in New York City.
