Amator

In Kieslowski's early work, a factory worker develops an almost manic love of filmmaking. Worker Filip is looking forward to the birth of his daughter. His colleagues give him an 8mm camera so that he can film his daughter growing up. As he is the only one in the company with a camera, he is urged by the director to found a film club. Initially reluctant, Filip quickly begins to discover his vocation in this hobby. But this causes problems: with his wife and with his superiors, who become increasingly concerned about Filip's artistic ambitions.
