Albert Sackl's most recent film, which we are presenting as a Vienna premiere, stands in the tradition of the film avant-garde and yet is completely different. The triangle of camera, protagonist and landscape that dominated Sackl's last two films is expanded to include a second person: the eponymous Milena Fina. On the Phone Milena Fina brings the inner and outer worlds, two bodies, details such as hands and fabrics, the living space of a couple inside and outside, into vibration with each other. A visually hypnotic and yet quiet, great love film, whose projection is preceded by an early Super 8 body study by Albert Sackl from 1997. (M.L.)
