Year2023

Duration92min.

Bambino lives as a single in Lagos and works as a delivery driver. In his neighborhood, he shows himself helpful, lends money to those in need, and spends time with his neighbor Ifeyinwa – but he rejects her advances. One day, he meets Bawa, who prefers taking photographs to working in the betting shop. They start riding around the city on Bambino's motor scooter, always on the lookout for new photo motifs and portrait settings. It quickly becomes clear that Bawa feels more than just friendship. Bambino struggles with his self-doubt and insecurity, while Bawa is convinced that their feelings for each other are signs of a profound connection. Besides the difficulty of admitting their true feelings to themselves, the environment makes their relationship a dangerous endeavor.

Apalowo's feature film debut, "ALL THE COLOURS OF THE WORLD ARE BETWEEN BLACK AND WHITE," premiered at the Berlinale in 2023 and was awarded the Teddy Award for Best Queer Feature Film.
