Ainda estou aqui (I’m Still Here)
Rio de Janeiro, 1971: Former left-wing congressman Rubens Pavia is an avowed opponent of the ruling military dictatorship. One day he is arrested in his home and abducted. His wife Eunice desperately tries to find out what happened to him and becomes involved as a lawyer for the rights of the victims of the military dictatorship.
In his deeply humanistic film, director Walter Salles (MOTORCYCLE DIARIES, CENTRAL DO BRASIL) tells the true story of the Pavia family, where Salles himself spent time as a child, in touching images. The film stars Fernanda Torres as a courageous and pain-filled wife.
‘A captivating, deeply moving film.’ (The Hollywood Reporter)
