Adieu Sauvage

If a language lacks words for emotions, does it imply that the people can not feel love? Director Sergio Guataquira Sarmiento, himself a descendant of an almost extinct indigenous Colombian community, embarked on a journey to meet the Cácuas to talk about their emotions and feelings of loneliness. In doing so, he reconnected with his own indigenous identity. With humor and tenderness, the Cácuas attempt to teach him what it means to be a native. This initiates an intimate exploration of the significance of heritage and love.
