At the age of 20, Joachim is unexpectedly accepted into the renowned drama school in Munich and moves into his grandparents' villa: Inge is a former actress with diva airs and graces, and Hermann is a strict philosophy professor. While Joachim has to face unexpected difficulties at drama school, he drowns his sorrows in red wine with his grandparents in the evenings. Joachim lives anything but a normal student life and tries to find his place in the world – without (yet) knowing what role he actually plays in it.
