Six films are admitted this year for the LOCAL HEROES AWARD, and everything revolves around experiences in the snow:
**REFLECTION** by Luis Bauer and Jonas Huser is a therapy session for backcountry snowboarders. What happens in the mind before a big jump?
The protagonists of **DOLORE** leave the world of professional competitions and embark on the search for a new challenge—their first high-alpine splitboard tour. The extraordinary aspect: both athletes have leg prostheses.
**FROM HERE** poses the question about the personal responsibility of mountain sports enthusiasts in the climate crisis: What can I do? Can I do anything? Where do I start?
**IN BETWEEN** allows us to delve deep into the world of the two young snowboarders Olivia Riedl and Christiane Freimann. Between initial successes at contests, everyday life, and the urge to push their own level, we accompany some of the best young Austrian freeriders on skis and snowboards through the winter.
In **LA BELLE VIE**, two skiers embark on a winter adventure journey with their camper van. However, their plans take a radical turn when they are surprised by a life-threatening avalanche in Verbier.
**DARE TO TRUST** documents the bike-and-ski journey of a trio of women from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Piz Bernina.
Outside of the competition, we are showing **BERG** by Eyup Kus. Two friends embark on a creative mission into the Austrian Alps. But as they try to coordinate sound, light, and design, their endeavor falters due to surreal events.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Mountain Film Festival, we are awarding a film prize for the first time: the **LOCAL HEROES AWARD**—endowed with a production budget of 3,000 euros, donated by the Annaberg-based outdoor clothing manufacturer Martini Sportswear. For the team of the winning film, Tennengau artist Jakob Dobaiz is creating a sculpture that will also be presented during the festival. Decide who gets to take the prize home: The program runs on seven different dates, and the total of all votes cast determines the winning film, which will be announced at the award ceremony.
