24/G4: 30 Jahre Frauenexpedition
The first Austrian women's expedition to the 8,027-meter-high Shishapangma in Tibet in 1994 was a pioneering achievement and a sensation. Women climbing the world's highest mountains were still a rarity — even more so when it came to an expedition organized by women for women. "Nothing like it happened before or since," recalls then-expedition leader Gertrude Reinisch-Indrich on the 30th anniversary — an anniversary also celebrated by our festival this year.
With the documentary *A WOMAN'S PLACE IS ON THE TOP*, expedition members Gertrude Reinisch-Indrich and Christine Eberl will be guests at **DAS KINO**, sharing their experiences — including the challenges of reaching the summit in a male-dominated world. Offering a contemporary perspective, particularly regarding gender issues in the mountaineering world, will be members of the Alpine Club's **"Young Alpinists TEAM."**
