Céline is expecting her first child – but she is not pregnant. In a few months, her wife Nadia will give birth to a daughter. In order to be officially recognized as a mother, Céline has to adopt the child. She is among the first women in France to take this path. Part of the bureaucratic process involves collecting 15 personal letters from relatives and friends, meant to prove that Céline loves the child and will be a “good” mother.
