What is THE MILLION DOLLAR BET about?
The two poker buddies Hank and Jack from Las Vegas have a bet in which Hank has a lot of running to do. After a night of drinking, Hank claims to be able to cover 70 miles in 24 hours, which Jack denies for a million dollars. No bluff. The 478 laps around the block with aching feet soon become more than just a physical endurance test, as a guilty conscience and a chain-smoking mother at the side of the road turn the buddy fun into psychological stress. A marathon drama based on a true story, staged with cool gestures and subtle irony, in which Sandstorm Janet makes the last few meters really exciting. (Michael Pekler)
