What is CALL ME BY YOUR NAME about?
The precocious 17-year-old Elio Perlman (Timothée Chalamet) enjoys the northern Italian summer of 1983 at his family’s 17th-century villa. The Italian-American boy spends his time playing and transcribing classical music, reading and flirting with his girlfriend Marzia (Esther Garrel). Elio has a close relationship with his parents.
One day, 24-year-old American doctoral student Oliver (Armie Hammer) arrives at the villa as Elio’s father’s new summer intern. In the midst of that sumptuous, sun-soaked setting, Elio and Oliver discover the intoxicating beauty of blossoming desire over the course of a summer that will change their lives forever.
